The ivorine plate “GWR 2172” was attached to the side of the back box when the clock was absorbed into GWR ownership in 1922. Side door at each side, plus a further door at base (with key). Restored to VGC, in full working order and complete with winder and key.Call
67SHEDPLATE: 6J HOLYHEAD (May 1952 – closed to steam December 1966). This ex-LNWR shed, formerly coded 7C between 1935 and May 1952, was always home to around 20 locos throughout its BR life. However during that time it housed 90 different Black 5s as well as 17 “Royal Scots”, 15 “Britannias” and a handful of “Jubilees” and “Patriots!” A heavily weathered example, showing traces only of the original paint.Call
73BRASS LOCOMOTIVE WORKS PLATE ENGRAVED “DONCASTER 2063 1950,” as carried by BR 4MT 2-6-0 43057. Always a North Eastern Region loco, it was resident at a variety of sheds, finishing its life at West Hartlepool in December 1966. It was taken to Drapers at Hull where cutting took place in March 1967. 12½” x 6½” in excellent condition, the front lightly polished, the back original with the wording “Works Serial Number Plate Drg 17114D” and endorsed “4F 2-6-0 43057” and with “YM3” embossed.Call

156BR(M) Q/R POSTER: “ISLE OF MAN: PORT OF ST MARY” (Peter Collins). Peter Collins painted a number of posters of the Isle of Man, of which this is one of the nicest. First issued in 1958, it was also reissued in the 1960s. Port St. Mary harbour is shown in bright sunlight and has always been popular with divers and fishermen. Folded, VGC otherwise.Call
174BR(M) D/R POSTER: “THE EDEN VALLEY” (Claude Buckle – 1905-1973). Claude Buckle was one of the main artists of the mid 20th century. This is one of very many he painted of the River Eden in Westmorland. A desirable poster to have for fans of this artist. Folded, taped repairs along top edge, good otherwise.Call

187SHEDPLATE: 64A ST. MARGARETS (1949 – May 1967). This extensive ex NBR shed was home to well over 200 locos during the 1950s. By 1966 this had dwindled to just 40. Throughout its BR life it was home to a number of celebrity classes. Perhaps the golden period was in the early 1960s when A1, A2, A3 and A4 Pacifics carried this code. The small fleet of diesel shunters also carried this code. Repainted front and back.Call
213NBR CHINA SAUCERS manufactured by Caulfield & Co., Hadam’s Court Lane, Glasgow. All identical in blue floral design with edge decoration and the NBR coat of arms at the centre with the wording “North British Railway Company” in garter around them. 5¼” diameter. Two are in VGC, the third has a small hairline crack through the middle. Three scarce saucers nonetheless. (3)Call
275LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE: “ARBURY HALL” as carried by the GWR 49XX "Hall" Class 4-6-0 loco built at Swindon in November 1939 under Lot 327. First shed was Reading. It was converted to oil-firing in May 1947 and renumbered 3954 but converted back to coal in February 1950. In August 1950 it was at Old Oak Common and in March 1959 at Swindon. Its last shed was Westbury. Withdrawn September 1963 and scrapped at Cashmore's, Newport. The nameplate is 67” x 13”, fully beaded, repainted front and back some time ago, but bearing evidence of originality and brasswork lightly polished only. Together with matching brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “5986” which is in ex-loco condition front and back. Arbury Hall is situated near Nuneaton and is  built on the site of a 12th century Augustinian Priory. It has been the home of the Newdegate family for over 400 years. (2)Call
286LMS SILVERPLATE FOUR PIECE CRUET SET manufactured by Walker & Hall. The set comprises glass salt and pepper pots, vinegar bottle and mustard jar. Supported by four ball feet, the base is 5½” x 5½”, the central carrying handle is 7” high. The LMS coat of arms is clearly incised underneath the base. VGC.Call
300LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE: “ORION” as carried by BR diesel-electric class 47 № D1668. Built at Crewe works in March 1965, it was named in October of that year. Renumbered 47083 in March 1974, and 47633 in December 1985, it had by then lost its nameplates. Withdrawn in December 1991 and cut up by M C Metals at Glasgow works in June 1994. Please note: this is one of the original Swindon cast plates, not one of the later replacements. Cast aluminium 28¼” x 8¼” virtually bereft of paint, the lettering and edging in original condition. The back is also original and bears the chalked number “1668.” There are small fractures around many of the screw holes at the back, not noticeable from the front. The nameplate is accompanied by the MATCHING WORKSPLATE “British Railways Crewe Built 1965 Power Equipment by Brush Electrical Engineering Company Ltd and Sulzer” which has been repainted blue on the front, the back in original condition with the number “47083” stamped also with the name “Orion.” (2)Call
319ORIGINAL ARTWORK: “NEWTON HEATH” by Bernard Jones. A gouache on canvas study of one of the last remaining BR steam sheds in the North West in the mid-1960s with locos 42957 and 42765 being prepared for the day’s work. Bernard Jones is a member of the Guild of Railway Artists and has been painting railway scenes since 1986. Loco 42765 was an LMS 2-6-0 class 5P later class 5loco № 13065 built at Crewe in 1927. Renumbered 2765 in 1934 and 42765 by BR. Withdrawn December 1966 from Birkenhead. Loco 42957 was an LMS class 5 loco № 13257 built at Crewe in 1933. Renumbered 2957 in 1934 and 42957 by BR. Withdrawn January 1966 from Heaton Mersey. Framed, 30” x 20”, a nicely balanced picture in VGC.Call
325LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE: “CRAWLEY GRANGE” as carried by the GWR "Grange" Class 4-6-0 loco numbered 6872 and built at Swindon in 1939.  It was first allocated to Weymouth and in later years went to Truro, Pontypool Road and Cardiff East Dock. Its last shed was Oxford. It was withdrawn in December 1965 and scrapped by Cashmore's at Newport; one of the last to be broken up. This is the left hand side plate, 67” x 13”, fully beaded, repainted front and back, but the various knocks and scrapes of service are still visible. The brasswork has been lightly polished only. The back is stamped “6872 L”. It is mounted on a stand with brief description of the class. Together with matching brass CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE “6872”, front repainted, the back cleaned. (2)Call
328BRASS SINGLE LINE KEY TOKEN: “KEITH JCN – ELGIN CENTRE 23” the section names engraved around the “polo mint” shaped end. The section name “Keith Jcn” has been added after the original section name was ground off. This token section came into existence in October 1966 when the ex-Highland Railway signal boxes at Keith were closed and the token section was extended to between the former GNSR Elgin Centre and Keith Junction signal box. Token working was replaced by tokenless block working in the 1970s. Good, ex-section condition.Call
343RUSSIAN LOCOMOTIVE ALUMINIUM WORKSPLATE: “CCCP [USSR] KOLOMNA WORKS  № 9428 of 1951” (plus further words in Cyrillic). From a 5ft Gauge Soviet Railways Class L 2-10-0 built by Kolomna. 1,762 of the 4,200 Class Ls were completed at these workshops between 1945 and 1954. The bulk of the class lasted well into the 1980s as part of the USSR's strategic reserve. The plate is in the shape of a styilised steam loco and train. 30½” x 10¾” in ex-loco condition both sides.Call
344TYER’S SINGLE LINE HOOP with holder for a miniature train staff or similar. White leather clad hoop with a brown and white leather holder with the makers name “Tyer & Co Ltd Guildford England 7-62” (i.e. July 1962) stamped into the leather. No staff present. 17½” x 22” overall. VGC.Call
354GWR HOTELS SILVERPLATE SUGAR TONGS manufactured by Mappin & Webb. 4¼” long with the “GWR” roundel and the word “Hotels” below it are clearly incised on one of the handles. VGC.Call
364BRASS CABSIDE NUMBERPLATE: 38 from Hunslet Locomotive Co works № 3824 of 1954, a Standard Gauge 0-6-0ST, which was delivered new to Moor Green Colliery, Eastwood, Notts. It entered Moor Green Central Workshops in early 1958 but had returned to the Colliery by May 1959.  It was scrapped by  Ellis Metals Ltd, Spondon, in early 1963 after a woefully short career. 15⅝” x 12⅛” repainted front, original condition back. The letters “LH” indicating the left hand plate have been chalked on the back.Call
368TYER’S NO 6 FIBRE SINGLE LINE TABLET: “WOLSINGHAM – STANHOPE 15” the section names engraved and picked out in white. This token section was located on the ex-NER Bishop Auckland to Wearhead line and ceased to exist in May 1971 when Stanhope signal box closed and the line between Wolsingham and Eastgate cement works came under the control of Wolsingham. Good, ex-section condition.Call
