W1LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE: “THE STAFFORDSHIRE REGIMENT (THE PRINCE OF WALES’S)” from a Type 4 1Co-Co1 Class 45 “Peak” loco D71, later 45049. Delivered new to Crewe in November 1960 from the adjacent works, it was named without ceremony on 20 May 1966 at Derby Works. It was withdrawn in February 1988 from Tinsley, and cut up by MC Metals Glasgow in April 1989. 61” x 21” in resin on a steel backing plate with the original bolts still present on the back. It appears that Tinsley gave the plate a lick of paint a few months before withdrawal. May be collected from Bedford.£6500 (No Buyers Premium)Image
